Relationships and Timeline

Family:

THE OLDER BROTHER: antoine_laurent Aimé’s oldest brother, Antoine is the man behind his every move. He has cultivated Aimé into the young man he is today and has arranged his meetings for him. Aimé loves him dearly and his all but blind to his problems.

THE SECOND BORN: augustinlaurent A revolutionary who spurned the family. Aimé used to be closer to Augustin until the family moved to Paris and he began his life as a companion. He still misses his brother and craves his approval should he see him.

THE FATHER: Aimé’s father is ailing and has given most of the control of the family over to Antoine. Aimé is a dutiful and kind son, but not his father’s favourite.


Affairs:

THE LOVER: mercedes_dupont Mercedes and Aimé met when he ferried the family from France to England. There was a mutual attraction which Aimé thought would soon be over. However, Mercedes did not see it that way and the two maintained a clandestine relationship until it was discovered by Antoine who forced Aimé to finish it once and for all. Aimé still loves Mercedes although he does not admit it to anyone.

THE PATRON: lord_hurst Lord Hurst is Aimé’s newest patron. He could give the family everything they need to survive comfortably in England. Aimé admires him very much although he finds his tastes unorthodox.

THE OLD FLAME: One of Aimé’s patrons from France who has also managed to escape. He could hunt down Aimé only to discover that the boy had moved on. His reaction would be entirely the choice of the player.

THE OBSESSIVE The man who never could have Aimé, now a General in the army having moved into the family’s old townhouse. Has collected old paintings of Aimé. Was charged with keeping the family under lock and key but they escaped from him and he plans to retrieve them, having Aimé as his spoil of war.


Others:

THE EMEMY: the_ambassador Léon Belmont, the French Ambassador, keeps a watchful eye on the Laurent’s hoping to deport them back to France to face execution or to discover the identity of the man who rescued them.

THE SERVANT: ofthemasses Bartholomew "Tolly" Heyward is Aimé’s newest servant although Aimé does not know the man is actually a thief who forged his credentials.

THE ENABLER: loveanddespair Sabana Alvarez is Mercedes’ patron and has often helped Mercedes and Aimé meet in secret in her apartment. She and Aimé do not think highly of each other though and have only Mercedes as the thing which keeps them in each other’s company.

THE WRONGED WOMAN: Rebecca Hurst discovers her husband’s affair with Aimé. She confronts Aimé with her knowledge.

THE SON waxingpoetic Charles Hurst uncovers his father’s affair with Aimé and the two are initially hostile until Charles learns that Aimé is in love with another man and forbidden to be with him. Charles, a hopeless romantic, can’t help but try to help.

Chronology:

{i}-Aimé advertises for a man servant, shows Mercedes the article, has Tolly apply for the job and is reprimanded by Antoine for doing it without his permission.

{ii} - Aimé and Mercedes correspond between letters discussing Aimé’s new patron Lord Hurst and Mercedes shows up at the townhouse to show Aimé the plans for his new ship.

{iii} - Aimé and Lord Hurst meet for the first time and flirt.

{iii.i} - Mercedes is shot trespassing at Lord Hurst’s hunt and Aimé goes compleatly to pieces.

{iii.ii} - Charles Hurst and Aimé meet for the first time and discuss the shooting accident.

{iii.iii} - Aimé sneaks away from the party to visit Mercedes and is caught by Antoine.

{iii.iiii} - Lord Hurst and Aimé discuss Lord Hurst’s predilection for young men and Aimé tries to prove to Antoine that he is going to do his duty to the family.

{iii.iiiii} - Aimé is punished for betraying Antoine’s trust.

{iiii} - Backstory. Aimé and Augustin fight over Aimé becoming a companion.
